.357 Choice, Part II

You limited your list to a series of guns that are all relatively equal in reputation, quality, price and accuracy. None of us can tell you which one will feel best in your hand.

I would go off your choices to a Dan Wesson model 715 6", and the 6" 629.

I'll let you keep Rosie (though if I had to choose between her and Coulter, it would be difficult as both are equally disgusting, IMHO) I'll use Coulter's book to start fires with, or maybe toilet paper, it's not worth reading. :D

1)I will select either a 4-inch or a 6-inch Ruger Security-Six or an 4-inch Security-Six or a 7.5-inch Redhawk .357. Why? Because I know just how good these guns really are and how much tougher they are than most of the more popular name Brand revolvers! Also, because of their unique modular design and quick and easy takedown that facilitates easy cleaning and reassembly in the field-which comes in mighty handy in the event you should drop these guns in a stream and need to quickly get the gun cleaned up to enable you to continue using these guns without being put out of commission due to gun failure, and the need for a Gunsmith before you could use your guns again(Like in the case of an S&W, Colt, etc.!)! Although it is true that the trigger on both the older S&W and Colt revolvers are superior to these Ruger revolvers, it is also true, that in time, the triggers on these Rugers will improve significantly with continued usage! A spring kit will help immensely also!

2)I also own several S&W and Colt revolvers. However, I must disagree that an Ruger Security or Speed-six is an uglier gun than an S&W! To me, although I like my S&W model 64 & 65, I think that the Speed-Six is a better looking gun! This is not to say that the Model 64 and 65's are ugly-just that they are not prettier IMHO, than is the Speed-Six! Keep in mind, that there are alot of S&W and Colt revolvers that are in fact, ugly-but, most folks turn a blind eye to this ugliness in view of their bias towards their favorite Brand of guns or otherwise, because a certain gun is very popular with the masses(Despite this ugliness!)! Looks is always in the eye of the beholder-and, this is why there are so many different styles of guns on the market!

Ill take the 4" GP100 and the Redhawk. Do we get to choose ammo? If so I want 330 gr Hammerheads for the Redhawk and my 158 gr XTP handloads.

Ruger GP 100 6" and the redhawk- durability. security six is good too if you have the target sized grips or large aftermarkets. Add good ear protection for all these magnums and for when the ideal woman begins to b1tch.

Hmm, maybe I could trade the beeeoch to .38 Special for Ann Coulter.
Ugly thoughts are ugly thoughts. Doesn't really matter to me whether they come out of an overweight talk show host or a cross-dressing radio personality. :neener:

A number of years ago I worked for the NRA and everyone dreaded Elmer Keith coming by for a visit. The headquarters were over on Rhode Island Ave. and 16th back then, in Washington, D.C., and he'd walk in with a concealed .44 magnum and who knows what else, which was illegal as hell! He also used the "N" word every other sentence, wore clothes that looked like he slept in them and smoked a horrible cigar. Never dealt with him myself, thank goodness, but everyone breathed a bit better once he was in the cab and headed back for the airport.

I think he's one guy who wouldn't have been intimidated by Ann Coulter. They might have made a fine pair. If not her, Rosie O'Donnel. He probably would have skinned her and hung her up.

Ah, the world is just filled with interesting people!

"Ah, the world is just filled with interesting people!"
Not surprising although he wrote in one of his books that it was not right to disparage people because of race.

Six inch Security Six. I had one. I also had the 4", but couldn't hit the ground with it. I think I like them over the GP100s, because I just like a metal grip frame. If anyone could tell me an advantage to having a GP 100, I would be interested to hear about it, though.

Ruger Redhawk. Definately. A previous poster mentioned ease of takedown as a big advantage of the Rugers, and it is a beautiful thing. (what I'd really like is a .45 Colt Redhawk)

Hogue Monogrips, with finger grooves and no checkering on both. Preferably Coco Bolo.

Go Stainless.
