Hey friends,

I am relatively new to reloading and want to load some 357 magnum ammunition for my father as a Christmas gift. I have not previously loaded for this caliber.

I will be using Hornady 125 grain XTP bullets and according to my Hornady manual, all of the loads require SP magnum primers. All I have are CCI #500 SP primers.

However, in my Lee manual, it has data for the 125 grain XTP using Unique powder. And it doesn’t appear that this load requires magnum primers.

The powders I currently have that may be useful for this application are H110, IMR 4227 and Unique.

Out of those three powders, I need to use Unique, correct? (Since I do not have SP magnum primers)

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Brass: Mixed
Bullet: Hornady 125 grain .357” / 38 cal
Powder: I have IMR 4227, H110, Unique
Primers: Only have CCI #500
