im am looking for a shooter. and what better than a gun that is capable of firing three different cartridges. my main ploblem is my eyes are bigger than my pocket book. i have a humble loading set up am capable of loading the max from wild to wilder. 4227 sounds like its poular for this cartridge but a recent article in handloader magazine said that most topstrop cutting was from slowburning ball powders. said flake was the way to go. i was thinking blue dot. has anyone used the dot in the max? is bluedot a clean burning powder? thoughts?

I did not like bluedot in my max that is why I standardized with 4227. Bluedot is somewhat temperature sensitive at those pressures that is why either speer or seirra mentioned it in their writeup in the load manuals.

Go with 4227 and you will be fine.
