Would there be a significant difference in .38 vs .357 bullet drop at 25, 50 and 75 yards?

For purposes of sighting in a .357 for deer using .38.
Cost is a factor and I have no .357 but I do have 2 boxes of .38.
Plan is to practice with the .38 and then get a box of .357 to hunt with and shoot 15 of the box of 20 .357 loads as a final practice.
Assuming I'm accurate enough to use in a hunt.

So would the two loads hit pretty much at the same point as the same distance of 25, 50, and 75 yds?

Assume WWB .38 and .....?? 180gr buffalo bore .357

No, they will not.

Your plan to practice with .38 Special is good, as far as it goes.

But the sight settings will be much different with 180gr Buffalo Bore .357.

And I'd suggest you get more then 5 rounds of hunting ammo to take on the hunt.

A standard pressure 158gr .38 Special round will drop ~2" @ 50 yards and 8" to 9" @ 100 yards from a 4" barrel. A .38 Special +P using the same weight bullet will drop about 2" less @ 100 yards.

The same weight bullet in a .357 Magnum will drop less than an inch @ 50 yards and will have half the drop of a .38 Special @ 100 yards. Using a longer barrel like usually used for hunting a 180gr bullet will probably drop less than 4" @ 100 yards from a .357 Magnum. Even less from some of the really hot hunting rounds that are around these days. You will see very little if any drop @ 50 yards from the hotter stuff.
