Hi all, I have a Taurus TCP .380. I bought one brand new and it had some failure to feed issues, so asking my LGS to send it in for repair he swapped it out for another brand new one (he's a great guy :) ) this one hasn't had any issues.

However I have had one or two occasions where the round has gotten stuck on the feed ramp, and was told when I got my first one that I should try polishing the feed ramp. I was wondering what is the best way to polish/make smooth this feed ramp to help rounds feed into the barrel more smoothly/reliantly? This is my ever day carry gun and I just want to make it as reliable as possible.

Oh and, please don't turn this into a Taurus sucks thread :D

I don't understand, were the issues with the first or the second one that you now posess?

If there are no feed issues, leave it alone. If what you describe is happening with the current one, I would send it back to Taurus. Whipping out the dremel, or even getting overzealous with Flitz might cause a bigger problem that Taurus won't be willing to fix.

A Dremel and a bullet point extra fine Cratex tip is the best way to do it.

By hand?
Get a wood dowel rod slightly smaller around then the feed ramp curve and some 400 grit Wet or Dry paper and a sheet of Crocus cloth.

Just wrap a strip of each around the dowel and gofer it.

It happened a lot with the first one but only a few times with the new one. Just wondering if there's anything I can do to improve the reliability of it. Where it's my EDC gun the last thing I want if I have to pull it out is a failure to feed.

Thanks RC.

Cadcom - I tried 3-5 brands of ammo on the first one but where it happens so infrequently on this new one it's hard to tell what it likes the best.
