How about Glock 25/28 chambered for .380 Auto?

IME, Glock polymer frame and RSA do a nice job of taming felt recoil, even for snappy 40S&W.

I own the LCP and the CZ 83 and the recoil on the two really doesn't compare. The LCP is no fun to shoot. The CZ 83 is really fun to shoot. For my wife and mother I went in a different direction though. For my mom I recommended getting the LCR in .357, then had her shoot .38 out of it. For my wife we have the single action blackhawk, also in .357 but loaded with .38. To each his/her own. I just know that my wife and mother don't shoot often and the revolver is so much easier to understand, conceptually. Less to remember and very easy recoil seemed to be the way to go. You know your spouse better than anyone else. I just can't imagine my wife or mother racking a slide or doing anything else necessary to fire an autoloader safely. I really like the Ruger single six in stainless with the .22 wmr as an option. Very effective, simple, safe, and almost no recoil. Just something to think about.

Home Defense Gun with low recoil?

A pistol caliber carbine, probably 9mm.

Or, if money is no object, an H&k SP89 or proven reliable clone.

If extreme low recoil is needed, then a tuned Ruger 10/22 Charger with a drum mag and a passive red dot sight.

I have not seen it mentioned and have no experience with it but sig now chambers the P250 subcompact in 380. Has anyone shot it? I would assume the recoil is low

I shoot a Browning BDA .380.. It's not a pocket pistol.. But I can't hit the side of a barn with a .40 or .45 or 10 mil.... With the Browning on a quick draw, i can put 13 into a softball size circle at 8 yards in 4 seconds... I think that will do the trick...

Star D - had one years ago, a fine all steel pistol. Europe police issue. Goes 'pop' and you are still on target.

If you can find one, you might try the Remington Model 51. Locked breech, delayed recoil operation with very low perceived recoil. It naturally points where you want it to hit, and has a very ergonomic grip design.

It is a flat, easily concealable design, and was one of General Patton's favorite pistols.

How right you are! I have one of these (inherited from my dad) and it is wonderful. The only problem is that it's a bit of a booger to field strip.

You can really get a grip on them unlike many pocket pistols.

My Grand daughter carries the Walther PK 380 and it has the least recoil of any I have shot for a light weight carry gun. It is very easy to rack the slide as well.

From experience I can tell you that the Bersa has no thumb wracking recoil.
