Why does nobody make them. I would think they would be a blessing for those who load for 1911's. I mean would it be that hard to do? Sure beats botching a 1911 to feed hollow points. Something similar to those protected soft point round nose rifle bullets, but in .451 diameter and mabye 185 200 and 230 grain. Id buy them. Anyone else. rant off

Just buy 1911's that don't have to be "botched" up to feed HP's all day long.

1911 rant? :)

try loading you hollow points to a shorter oal than your fmj's. the flat edge of a hollow point will not climb the ramp nearly as well as a round nose. i have measured every factory loaded hp that i have bought, and they are always roughly 0.060" shorter than fmj's.

The problem with a soft point bullet in .45 ACP is you have insufficient velocity to get reliable expansion.

Most .45 ACP HP's are running on the ragged edge of reliable expansion already. And it takes higher velocity to get a soft point to open up in a meaningful manner.
