I have some CBC brass that was used in Magtech commercial ammo that I bought. I've read that it is heavier than other brass in that caliber.

I typically buy Starline brass whenever I start reloading a caliber.

Is CBC ok to use to reload 454 Casull or would it be better to just buy new Starline brass?

CBC brass is good but its always thicker than other brass. Not ideal for lead bullets but should be fine for fmj stuff. New Starline brass is always a good option!

The thicker brass will have greater neck tension than regular brass. Combined with a .001-.002" oversize cast bullet can result in your bullet being squeezed down in size if its too soft. I see it happen all the time with cbc 38spl brass. I set the stuff aside.

That makes sense. Thanks everyone, I'm going to just buy new Starline brass. I don't want to take any chances especially with a powerful round like the 454 casull.
