This is a great event and I'll be attending. A few ground rules:

  • No cammi or blaze orange, please. I encourage business casual, but blue jeans and a nice shirt are acceptable. But no cammi, no blaze orange, and no "message T-shirts", please. Dress nicely, and our numbers will speak louder than your T-shirt ever can.
  • No inflammatory signs or buttons. These do not help us appear mainstream.
  • Act at all times as if you're on camera, because you will be at some point during the event whether you're aware of it or not. We do not want to embarrass ourselves when we appear on the local networks' evening newscast.

This comes down to marketing. The more mainstream we appear, the more effective we are to our legislators and to the public who will see us on television that evening.

After the speakers have their time, we're going to go visit our representatives offices. We'll tell those who would push for more gun legislation what our thoughts are about it. And we'll visit our supporters and let them know when they stand up for us that we've got their back.

I live in PA, the Pocono area as a matter of fact, and I am not going. I'll be in Antigua.

I for one and emphatically state that who ever attends, dress nicely!! As the guidelines say, no orange or camo!!! You may be proud of the dress but it makes you look real bad....

Wear your blue jeans and a nice shirt, NRA coats N hats if not taken to extremes.... just do not go redneck and expect respect from any of the medias....

A number of years back the Michigan Militia went out on a member ship drive.... they were a good group of people but tended to way over do the camo, and it gave them real bad PR, now I'm not sure they even exist in any organized form anymore.... Just a lesson to learn here....

As much or as little as you want to do.

You can get a ride to the steps, sit on a chair, and get back in your car and go home if that's all you're able to do. It'll mean a lot just to have people show up. Going into our representatives' offices is just gravy.
