While at the range today,a fellow had a 50 bmg upper on a AR lower.1200 dollars is what he said he paid for it.
Would this been very hard on the lower? If not,it seems like a "cheap" way to get into a 50.
The fellow let me shoot it,......will this smile ever go away?

It shouldn't harm the lower. The recoil force is transferred in a straight line to your shoulder. Since the empty brass is not ejected and there is no bolt carrier to move, there are no forces acting on the lower.
