A question for a friend who loads 50 BMG: For those who load 50 BMG, what do you store your dies in? I believe he has RCBS dies that came in cardboard box. He's looked and can't find anything better ,so I thought I'd ask.

Thanks for any help.

Leave one on the press and throw the other one back in the cardboard box. If he lives in an area with a lot of moisture then he might want to spray them with something to protect them.

If he feels the need he can always buy a plastic box from Wal-Mart, get one of the zip lock, lock n lock ones that they sell. They're only a few bucks and will last forever if you take care of it.

One in the press, the other in a zip lock bag in a drawer. Probably should have both in the drawer but never really thought much about it.

Plastic box from Wally-World for mine, same as above. If I leave one in the press overnight, I wrap a rag around it with a little WD-40. I do this to protect the press as well as the dies.
If you use water soluble lubricant, you might think of wiping out the interior of the dies also.

For ALL my die sets I use a Steralite shoe storage box for each caliber. I purchased at Wall Mart for a good price and they are stackable. I put a label on the side to indicate caliber. Then put in the die sets/seating punches/Lee trimmer stud etc. I also leave my setup bullets/dummies in there as well. Have a partial box of 5-10 bullets throw them in too as long as they are not too heavy. I then pull the box when I decide to load load that caliber and have all the needed items in one handy place. Just get the brass/bullets/propellant and loading manual and off I go. I even have one for each press I own used to store the parts and accessories in.
