Does anyone have a source of reliable stats on sporting uses of 50 BMG Rifles?

I poked around the Fifty Caliber site, and will do more research there, but I am interested in the numbers of competitions, number of competitors, different sports involved.

Thanks,

Mike

the fifty caliber shooter's association (FCSA) organizes most of them.
biggerhammer.net is another good resource.

Just so you know, there are a LOT of people who have 50 bmg rifles that would like to compete but cannot because their local ranges have voluntarily banned them due to the noise in an attempt to be good neighbors to the subdivisions encroaching on what was once farmland in the middle of nowhere.

My local sportsmans club is in this boat. It is unfortunate, since I had two 50BMG rifles and several of my friends have them, but we've had to find other places to shoot.

The Fifty Caliber Shooters Assn. only puts on one match a year and that's at Raton. All of the other shoots are put on by members at their local shooting range. These matches are put into the FCSA's magazine because of the members and them being affiliated.

North Coast Shooters Assn. puts on more .50 matches then the FCSA. http://northcoastshooters.com/
