52 grain speer hp 223 pet loads

I was gonna try working up some 223 loads with blc2 and 52 grain speer hp. I have the speer data, but didn't know if any of you had pet loads for this powder and bullet combo.

26.0gr BLC2. An old bench rest formula.
Work up to 27.5 at 0.2-0.3gr to peak accuracy.
Also, 21.5gr IMR4198.
23.0gr H322.

Actually, too many good choices.

I can't speak to Speer bullets but my favorite prairie dog round is a 52 gr Sierra HP with 26.0 grs of H335 with a Remington 7 1/2 primer. It's a tack driver and you can fill the freezer quickly.

How do YOU cook a prairie dog?

Most I’ve shot were with an 85gr Nosler BT. Not enough left to bother with.
“Flea bitten varmint” comes to mind!

One of my favorite match loads for 300yds and less is 26.5gr BL-C(2) behind a Sierra 52 or 53gr HP....don't know why Speer's would be any different. Has worked great for me in multiple barrels and twist rates.

I find that bullet very accurate in a 16", 1 in 9 barrel. I use H335 however.

I know you asked about 52g TNT, I use the 50g TNT, over 21.0/IMR 4198, 2.250 OAL.
I use it in a A2 Service Rifle for Practice H. Power, Heavy 1n9 w/ Float Tube.
Found it in a Old Lyman Book their Accuracy Load.
Could not get the Rifle to Shoot Groups till I tried it.
Bought 8# of 4198, can use it in my 45/70 also.

I've tried it and the Sierra with 3031, H335, Tac, and WC846. Never did find a load my rifle liked. Maybe just me. I have a few left, so maybe I'll give it another shot
