so i just put on a new barrel from ibi for my rpr rifle. now i need to start to load rounds for it.i am thinking 3 different rounds to load hornady 140gr eld match, hornady 140bthp, and sierra 140 bthp.
i just used my oal gauge and this is what i got for the 3
140eld match 2.8420
140bthp H 2.8225
140bthp S 2.7480

so if i am thinking this right, then i back up .010 to start on each than start with h4350 and do a work up from 39.6gr and up with 5 loads each and find the best one>

Sounds like a plan to me
My rifle likes 140gn SMK's at 2.765" with 41gr H4350

If you ladder test with a chronograph you should find an area or 2 of charge weights where the velocity kind of levels out and ES is low. That's where I usually find the best accuracy.

Most ELD type bullets like a long jump. I always start out with what the bullet mfg suggest for OAL.

Try what your thinking and see if it works for you. With out a crony you will be handy capped. Depending on barrel length 2700+ seams to be the sweet spot for the ELD's in my gun. 42.3gr H4350 @ 2.820" OAL GM205M primer.

i'm using a IBI 26inch barrel with a 1/8 twist on a rpr rifle

what grain bullet are you using i intend to use the 140gr eld and hornday say 41.5 is the max for h4350

140 gr ELD'S, 24" barrel. I'm also using the SR primer brass.

Hodgdon's list a higher Max. Just workup the load and see where you end up. The Hornady data did not match up with the velocities I was getting. Hodgdon's was very close to what I actually got.
