Hi,

If you have Prvi 7.5 swiss brass, do you need a FL or Neck sizing die? I'm just going to use them in a K-31 solely.

Well, speaking from experience, it wouldn't hurt to have FL and neck sizing dies. I reload 7.5 Swiss, and while I've had excellent luck with the Lee Collet Neck sizing set in regard to accuracy, there comes a time when the cartridges just won't chamber anymore. I've been putting off buying the FL sizer for a while...guess I should go do that! But seriously, I'd look at getting both of the Lee 7.5 Swiss sets...you'll still be money ahead than if you'd bought ONE set of RCBS. The Lee Collet sizer sets are GREAT!

For 7.5x55 Swiss, full-length sizing only. From Reloading the 7.5x55 Cartridge by by Pierre St. Marie:
This is "full length sizing". I don't want to hear about all of the variables in die setting possibilities with all of the other cartridges you use. For the 7.5 Swiss, make your press cam-over at the top of the stroke. Neck sizing? Forget it. After very few times fired your case won't be chambering anyway. Even if you do neck size, your case will have to be hand-fed into the chamber in exactly the same "o'clock" position every time to be effective. I do it with a few of my commercial rifles with some success. 7.5 Swiss? Forget it. Its an exercise in futility that won't shade my loads anyway, and there are at least two local k31 owners that are now believers.

Also,

In a K-31, the brands that work best rank in this order(?): Redding, Hornady, RCBS, Lee?

Yeah, I read that article too...only AFTER I'd been reloading 7.5x55 successfully for MONTHS!

I'm certainly not saying this fellow doesn't know his Swiss rifles...apparently he's THE leading authority. What I AM saying, however, is that neck sizing has worked fine for me. As I said earlier, though, you'll want a FL sizing die too. I've heard good things about the Redding FL for a K-31, but like I said, I wouldn't hesitate to pick up the Lee neck sizer.

When I was loading full bore jacketed loads I'd bump the shoulder back 2 to 3 thousandths using a full length sizing die. I now load cast bullets and use a Lee collet die and have had no problems chambering rounds.
