7.62 nato for aussies

Just a heads up for any Aussies out there. Lawrence Ordinance in Sydney advertised Portuguese 7.62 milsurp in the latest "Australian Shooter". Bought 200 rounds yesterday - came in links in ammo tin. Dated 1991 and supposed to be non corrosive. He imported a lot but apparently sold 20 cases of the stuff yesterday alone. He is shipping it all over australia. I wanted to buy more on payday, but it might not last that long. Get it while you can !

I'll vouch for the Portugese being clean and reliable, I've burned through about a 1000 rounds or so in my FAL's...good stuff.

Funny thing..I've been buying up a lot of Aussie Nato 7.62...wouldn't that be cheaper for you guys...the prices are the almost the same here in the US.

Can't get any aussie surplus here. Don't know why. Perhaps it all went to the US ? This is the first time that I've found 7.62 milsurp for a long while.

IIRC there is some bizarre legal issue that prevents the Aussie surplus from actually being sold in Australia. Its a shame too since its significantly better than the port. stuff.
