7.62x25 through a 7.62x54r barrel

I have an old mosin barrel and was looking at tinkering a bit with some spare parts. I was thinking of rechambering the barrel and making a pistol (read as toy). Not a sbr not an obrez (I dont want to start that discussion again) the only mosin part would be the barrel. Are the 2 bullet diameters close enough? Ill only be using the last 8-10 inches from behind the globe. I think if it can be done would make a sweet target pistol. Any sugestions would be appreciated! thanks

Well, if you reload it wouldn't be a problem at all. I reload 7.62x25 with .311 diameter 32 ACP bullets. Otherwise you might want to slug your barrel and see what the actual diameter is.

Seeing as they make 762x25 to 762x54r 'conversion' shells, Id think they're REALLY close.

That's how they made PPsH 41s, sawing Mosin barrels in two. Well, that's the story, anyway. Should work fine.
