80% Lower Construction

Any opinions on the creation of an 80% AR receiver. Constructed of billet aluminum. Questions about longevity and safety of use upon completion. Will a gun Smith turn me on if I take it to them for inspection? I live in Oregon and to my knowledge the construction of a 80% lower is not currently illegal.

I've done several and see no problem in longevity. I buy the ones that have already have the hard anodize on them. You will more than likely be on your own. Billet in general are beefier in certain areas over a std forged lower. With out a SN I dought that any gunsmith will touch them. By law they can not log them in, which means you must be present.
