Last fall I added a S&K scout mount topped with a Bushnell 2-6 pistol scope to my 1937 98K so that I could wring some more accuracy out of my rifle. With 1950's yugo 196gr ammo I'm getting consistent 2" 5 shot groups at 100 yards shooting off sandbags on a bench. I have been thinking about investing in some better quality ammo in order to shrink my group sizes. The contenders are prvi match 200gr FMJ found here http://www.midwayusa.com/product/67...-mauser-200-grain-full-metal-jacket-box-of-20 and Yugo M75 found here http://wideners.com/itemdetail.cfm?item_id=8435&dir=18|830|854 The price difference is significant (M75 ~$0.53/round vs Prvi Match $0.92) so I'm hoping someone who has shot these types of ammo can give me some input on their experiences.

Might try PMC's 170gr sp also. Your group size may be do to that old 70 year old barrel. 2" groups are pretty good really useing a 2=6 scope.

2" groups are pretty good

I'm MORE than happy the way this rifle is shooting with 60 year old ammo. I actually shocked since many people rave about the 1970's and 80's Yugo ammo as being superior to the 50's stuff.
