8mm Mauser reduced load

I have recently built a neat Mauser based scout rifle. I am using a 184 gr fp bullet mold. Very accurate and hard hitting with a gas check and a charge of 38gr of 3031.
My nephew wants to shoot it. I would like to work up a reduced load for him. I have some 3031, aa1680, and 2400 on hand. Could I use any of these for a very mild minimum load.

My Lyman does not have that bullet weight. Looks like 20gr of 2400 would be a starting load for your bullet weight, as this is maximum for a 246gr cast gas check bullet thats listed. Starting load for a 168gr cast is 19.0gr 2400
