Anyone know what the cases of the Hornady Critical Duty are and if they can be reloaded? If it a plated brass , how is it different from standard brass in its ability to be reloaded? Thanks.

Most of the premium defence ammo is nickle plated brass. Reloads the same as regular brass, but may not last as long as nickle is more brittle.

Take a magnet, if the case sticks to the magnet then toss it, if it doesn't then reload it. (exception to this is aluminum cases, can not be reloaded)

I've been reloading the nickle plated Critical Defense rounds right along.

No problems.

Hornady also uses some black nickel cases that reload nicely.

In actuality yes they can be reloaded, but its not recommended.
