What size and shape of cleaning patches do you folks use to clean your 9mm Para handguns? Sounds dumb, huh? Thanks...

Something around 2" round or 1 3/4" square will fit about right. Some are labeled for 9mm, .38/.357. It will vary a bit depending on the material the patch his made of. I like mine a little snug. If a patch will not quite fit, you can stab it a little off center with the jag and it will work fine.

I only use one size for all my guns, so I have no idea. The barrels still get clean, so I can't complain. Usually I find the Bore Snakes to be quicker unless I need to clean fouling.

I use the same patches for firearms from .223 up to .45. Shotguns get double wadded. I just buy whatever is available when I need it, as long as they are cotton & lint-free.

No need to spend time overthinking some stuff.

I use pieces of paper towels. At first I they would tear, but I worked up a technique that works just fine and the paper doesn't tear.

When my socks get a hole in them they become gun rags, When the elastic in my underwear loses its elasticity, the underwear becomes cleaning patches.

I also wad up paper towels or toilet paper and run that down the bore...

My wife buys me el-cheapo double sided flannel and I cut my own by the hundred. Actually, I cut two sizes: about 2.5"-3" square for shotgun and smaller for handgun. Most are cut for a .45 bore and I just resize a few of them when I clean smaller bore guns.

I use the alcohol patches from Walgreens. I use insulin. They fit everything but .22s. I rarely draw blood, those I toss and let the rest dry out in a little plastic container.
