Hi all..........I ordered some stuff from Rim Rock back in the summer and to sorta fill out the order I threw in a box of cast Mak bullets. Am finally getting around to making some up and see that I have 116g, I don't remember picking the 116g over the 95g but that's what I have. While doing research for a load I see where Buffalo Bore is using these boolits for a defensive round they produce. Anyone done any work with these heavy cast 116g? I was looking for some data using Unique since I have that on hand and in one thread somewhere saw where someone was recommending starting with min. .380 data plus 10% and working up.

Just my thought but if anything I would be more tempted to start with the .380 data (no 10%) and work up.

(and yes I am paranoid, but they are out to get me!)

I have not loaded any 116s for my Mak but use 3.6 Universal Clays behind a MBC 93 grn. (realize that's not much help) Have gone to 4.0 grns with this bullet, no bad pressure signs, but that is a listed max load. So I would think being off by .1 or .2 could be a bad thing.

Sorry spur0701 looks like nobody else has anything for you.
Wish I had loaded that bullet and could help you out more.

Thanks Dudedog, appreciate it.....after some more searching I found this thread:

http://www.p64resource.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=3246&start=15

The load I ended up using was this one posted by Ramiriz60:

116 gr. Rimrock FN bullet
Cases Cut down 9mm military
powder Unique - Charge 3.6 grains
O.A.L with bullet - .950"

I loaded and shot 50 rounds and was really happy with the accuracy at 20 yards........I haven't run it through a chrony though but will when I get a chance.

Your welcome. spur0701
Glad you found something. Alliants older data shows 4.3 of Unique with a 100gr LRN so it sounds like your in the ballpark. Heavier bullet=less powder.
Don't know if you can find any now but I shot S+B 9mm mak that was about $18/50 (probably more now that was a year or so back) and saved all the cases as they are reloadable. (No problems with the S+B brass) I believe Prvi Partizan is running about $20 a box and has reloadable brass as well. Not a great price but I have seen people selling "once" fired 9mm MAK brass for $20/100 (or more)

Saves having to trim 9mm brass. I love reloading but somehow just can't enjoy trimming:cuss:

PS Missouri bullet works has 9Mak 93grn lead round nose for 32.50/500. My Mak really likes them. Great company.
You can have up to 2000(3000?) of these shipped for $14! There is a code available for a 5% discount. Look on this site for the thread or PM me and I will give it to you.
