What's your take on that Steyr?
Tell me about the one in the middle. What kinda gun is that and what kinda stock?

That's a Steyr Tactical Scout in .308 with the Jeff Cooper Package. Arrived as you see it from the factory. Drills a hole at 200yds. It's awesome, frankly.

Everyone who shoots it smiles, and smiles again when we check targets. If you see a Steyr Scout for sale, buy it. That whole package weighs about 7lbs including 10rnds.

It's adorable.

Is the bottom one an actual AI AE or is it just an M700 with the AICS?

Either way, its a nice rifle.

Lucky punk. If you dont mind me asking, how much did you pay for it?

I had the chance to get one for an even $3000 but I didnt have three grand at the time.

I bought it years ago. And I worked for a gunshop at the time. I have the fitted Starlight Case as well. If I actually told you how much I paid, you would be sad.

The shop had sold a number of AW-50s, and a friend and myself ordered AEs. He broke down and sold his whole package, scoped, mags, all the fixins, for about $6k.

I'm keeping mine. <Golem> My PreCiouussss..</Golem>

Hell, those are the first I've seen for sale in a looong time, and I'm not surprised Collectors has them. The one you want is just a plain Scout in black furniture. The Tactical has a few lil upgrades.

My only real complaint with the Steyr Scout is the lil leaf bolt handle. The Tactical has a nice meaty knob.

I see what you mean about the bolt handles. I just want one in .223. Man you got some cool rifles.

College for me is the road to a better life. A better life defined as living in my current apartment but with guns like yours.

I certainly didn't buy the 4 rifles pictured all at once, and while I bought them a while back, it was still expensive. I make a decent blue color living, if I can own sweet sticks, anyone can. I just saved, and lept at opportunities.

I would if the bolt handle was not on the wrong side

Nice rack of guns you have there

You and me both...you and me both. I asked Steyr at SHOT about hope for a left-handed Scout, and the guy just gave me one of those sortof-sad-and-pitying looks, and said that they had no plans for it.
