I was watching a clip on Youtube (recently posted, I believe) with Massad Ayoob demonstrating a stressfire reload for revolver. I love his analysis of other reloading techniques, and agreed with almost everything he did.

But when inserting the new cartridges (via speedloader, at about 2:35), he drops the revolver down to his waist. My mind immediately jumped to this segment from Magpul Dynamics.

Now, Mas points out the need for the revolver to be oriented in such a way so as to make the best use of gravity. Keeping the revolver in your "workspace" would make that more difficult. But I have found the concept of the "workspace" invaluable to my shooting, both with my wheelgun and my semiauto.

There is benefit to the concept of an elevated workspace. The concept may have to be modified slightly depending on platform. It would be worth experimenting to see how high you can take your wheelgun and still do a proper changover reload. And to time yourself and see how much of a hit your reloading speed takes as you move the gun farther from your waist.
