IMG_20201129_161144791.jpg To the right, velcroed to the belt so I had to slide the accessories over to it Milt Sparks " field Pistol rig" Circa 1981. The upper snap " safety strap" is actually meant to be a protective covering for the pistol, or under the condition one hammer position for administrative Wear. There is a lift a dot snap on the other side of the strap so can be removed for gunsel times :) or rotate it out of the way forward. Speaking of Forward, the holster has a slight muzzle forward rake that was in Vogue at the time. Milt Sparks made according to Col Jeff Cooper input, and others such as Mel Tappan , who hung with the great ones from his chair !
Check out the Sparks " six pack" for 1911 magazines :) and the speedy double pouch also velcroed to the other Tapered end of the "River Belt" which was style popular on the legendary years along the Rio Grande :) I had a leather worker "modify" the strap tapered end with a 6" extension since the holster was ordered for me at 36" waist in 1981 and when I started wearing it again in 2010 it had shrunk 6" :( The AR mag holder has excellent retension for Field Work.
Guns and knives not installed altho all mags are freshly loaded

I also have two single mag Sparks M14 mag holders which use same type impingement fastener system as the AR double one pictured. They are sized to fit also Hk 93 and Hk 91 mags as I used those too during those times. I always used a 1911 tho.

Gordon you are the man! That looks just about perfect for the field.

I will try to get some pictures of my Glock 20 field rig tomorrow. It is a Tauris Rancher Holster, belt, and single mag pouch. I use if for pig hunting from horseback (actually mules) over dogs. Lots of miles on it, but not as nice as your set up. I have one picture where you can just barely see the holster, I will try and find a better one tomorrow.

And her is one for my Ruger Bisley .45 Colts:

It is made by CME in Texas. I am a lefty and usually use a knife when we hunt over dogs, so I had them make me a cross-draw, belt, and matching knife sheath made for left hand draw. With this set up I can get to the knife quickly or use my Bisley if needed. Their leather is a bit soft, but they have a quick turn around and are willing to work with the customer to build what they need.

There is nothing better than a day spent in the field with good friends, good leather, and good guns.

Thanks for sharing your rig.
