A good deal on ammo? I'll find out tomorrow

Went to Walmart Tuesday to get a rifle case, and saw a "ValuPak" of Winchester .38 Spl, 100 rds, for $14.87! problem was, it was RN, so I can't use it in the lever action.
Still...

I went to different Walmart today to pick it up, and the had Remington UMC SJHP, +P, 125 gr, for $18.97!! grabbed it up, and will test it at The Gun Room tomorrow.

Who has used this stuff?

That guy ever get that range all done? When I moved from Elk Grove to Vegas only one part of the range was open.

That owner always killed me - everytime he'd see a gun of mine he'd ask what I paid and then would say "I could've saved you money". Then everytime I'd ask the price of a gun he'd quote me list price!" I couldn't stand that guy and always bought elsewhere. Seems like I either bought at gun shows (when they were bigger) or Wild Sports with their sales.

I once frequented a shop like that. The guy absolutely resented doing transfers for me. He'd say "Why don't you buy it from me instead?" and i said, "Ok, you find me a used HK USP for $370"

I have since found a kitchen table dealer who does it for $25 with a smile. Even throws in a free box of ammo if you supply your own trigger lock so he doesn't have to give you one of his with the gun.

Mike can be a character, but he's also a real advocate for shooting in the area.

The range is done, and he's going to add more retail space.

Range report

One word: Flawless. It fed well in the Rossi 92, and was comfortable to fire in the S&W 66. It went where I aimed it. I'll be buying a LOT of this soon.

a good deal?

Sadly, yes it is. Occasionally I see a sale of something for less, but it is almost always RN or FMJ, or CCI Blazer, and it is never +P. Also, here in the People's Republic, ammo costs a little more. I plan to reload someday, but for now, this is a good deal.
