Smoky Mountain Knife Works, in cooperation with Brigade Quartermasters and UPS, is running a promotion or sales program called:
A Knife For A Soldier
In essence if you want you can buy a knife outright, or send in a donation toward buying a knife, for a soldier. You can do so through Smoky Mountain Knife Works at: http://eknifeworks.com/webapp/eCommerce/main_front.jsp. It sounded like a good deal to me especially since the knives are sold at a deep discount for this program. I bought a Cold Steel SRK Survival/Rescue knife. I was able to include a personal message and threw in my email address; maybe whomever gets the knife will get back to me and I'll be able to send a care package direct.
No this is not directly gun related and, yes I know there is a knife section, however; I hope the mods will forgive me and leave this one where it is because it will get more exposure here. A knife though, is a soldiers friend, just as is his gun - I hope that makes it gun related enough. If I messed up, then delete it if you must with my apologies. I do not know if this was already mentioned in these forums, I did do a couple of searches but found nothing. Hopefully it is not a duplicate effort.
P.S.: I had a problem with SMKWs in the past over an order (it did get delivered but took weeks longer than expected) and thought I would not order from them again but, this effort on their part may change that.
