Good weather today so I cast up some revolver projectiles that I hope to test this year.

The round nose is the classic Lee 200 grain.
The SWC is from a H&G mould for the 45ACP. It's normally sized to .452 but as cast the bands are about .455. Weight is 185 grains.
I also intend to test the Lee 200 grain 45 REAL bullet. Just have to get a mould.

I hear the lee .45 R.E.A.L. does great in a .44 cap and ball revolver. Ive never used it myself...but i made a custom .36 cal version and its roundball accurate and very hard hitting. Ive also seen a video mike Belleview (spelling?) made on comparing the 200 grain Lee round nose conical vs. kaido conical vs. Round ball and the Lee round nose conical showed to be more accurate than the other bullet designs. Although with the .36 kaido conical vs. Roundball vs. Pointed conical...the kaido .36 call far exceeded the rest in accuracy.

I've run the LEE 45 REAL through my ROA and 2nd Dragoon so far. Have not tried in the Remmy's, Walkers or 3rd Dragoons yet. Easy to load in the ROA, sometimes a hassle in the Dragoon which could be the 'as cast' size of the base and the cylinder dia. once the base is in the cylinder not much different loading pressure wise than a .454/.457 RB. You will need to drop the BP load a few grains to make room for the slightly taller REAL.
