A really nice 1911

Guns like that don't seem to attract me at all... The gun is supposed to be a shooter. What you have there is a museum piece, it is only good to look at. It has certain value, of course, but I would rather get an untempered Colt version over this gun.

I am just so sorry I forced you to gaze at that picture of the Frank Phillips 1911 it's going to just keep me up all night thinking how much it has hurt you to see this fine 1911 knowing there is no chance in you ever even touching anything close to it.

cerberus:

Well it does meet your description ....

I could be forced ... forced you understand ... to take it. :D

Museum Piece

Wonder if John Moses would have ever imagined that his
Old Ugly...Old Slabsides...Old Bigmouth...would have been
admired enough to be turned into such a beautiful piece of
work as that one.

It may not have any utility on the ugly side of town, where the old warhorses are in their element, but THAT pistol can waste away in MY
gun safe any time. I've got quite a few "working pistols". I don't need to
shoot all of them to appreciate each one.

It may not appeal to the practical minded...the pure gunmen...but there's
not one thing wrong with expressing oneself in such a way. My guess is that the man wo did this work did it as a tribute to where the 1911 has been, and what it has represented for nearly a hundred years...rather than
for attention. or fame. SOmething that he "had" to do, maybe...

A fitting tribute to what some of us consider to be a beautiful pistol, even in
its "Old Ugly" incarnation.

Cheers!

To paraphrase a old quote, "I wouldn't throw that gun out of my gun safe" :). Nice 1911, definitly not a shooter, but everyone needs some art in thier life.

Oh, I am so sorry Cerberus, don't loose any of your sleep - I didn't get hurt by looking at your museum piece. I get hurt by looking at something like this:

Not THAT'S what I call A REALLY NICE 1911:

Or this one here:

You just ain't diversified enough, I like 'em all, even the ones that say Llama...:p

It is a pretty nice looking piece. The jeweled trigger and hammer look nice in the one cerberus just posted too.
