I shot my contender today at 100yds. 10 rds at a 1.25 a rd you dont waste many. im on papper 8 out of 10. shooting mainly high and left. 3 rds you could cover with a dime.(witch of the 10 i dont know). Im thinking easy fix adjust the scope. still splaterd out. im looking for 1in high at 100. Ive remounted my scope and made shoure that all the screws are tight and locked down with lock tight. the cal is 7-30 waters 15in bullberry barrel burris 2x7 scope.and im using factry ammo. it is federal premium 120grn flat pt. any help would be appreciated. I also plan on reloding but like everyone im wating on componits. my best groop at 50 yards is around 1 inch and and 1inch high. im also using a rest and sand bags. thanks:banghead:

A couple of suggestions
Flat point ammo is not known for great accuracy. Shooting 100 yards at what power. I shoot a Encore 15 in .308 I have a hell of time at the highest magnification. I do better on around 5 power than 7. Don't worry to much about being high and left or high. If you are consistanly high and left or consistanly high that can be cured with reticle adjustment. I had the same problems with my .308 until I went through a couple hundred rounds down range. Handgun scopes take alot of getting used to. Don't sell the gun short until you have really put some rounds and practice into it.

Contenders are known for knocking scopes and mounts loose. I would re-mount everything carefully with blue, medium strength loctite. It's cheap insurance, especially with ammo over a dollar a round.

Also watch your bench rest technique. You have to be very consistant with the placement of the gun on the bags. The forend must rest in the same spot every time.

Down pressure on the bags must be avoided, use a firm grip and very lightly rested on the front bag.

thanks for the help i will reduce the power on the scope. and check my sandbag technique. I read article on line and the auther said that one of his best groops come with factry ammo. to my knolage only federal has ever loaded 7-30 ammo 120grn flat pt.

You may want to try another scope. My friend and I had to have a few Burris scopes repaired/replaced because they wouldn't hold zero.
With some scopes I've had to fire several shots after adjusting for it to settle in.
