I picked up my Glock 34 a couple months ago and love it. I have lightened the trigger with a trigger bar kit, and put in a metal DPM Systems Guide Rod. Only thing I believe it to be lacking is night sights. Since it is considered a target pistol, I'd love to have adjustable night sights, but I only see one choice, meprolight. I can not find any reviews on these particular sights. Any Opinions on them? Otherwise I think I will have to go with fixed night sights. If I go with fixed sights, I'd still like to make good groups at 50 feet.

Anyone have a G34, 35, or 17L with night sights?
Is the accuracy still there?
Do you have to hold the sights above or below the POI to hit the target?

For fixed sights I am most interested in the XS big dot sights. Any luck with these?

Any other suggestions are more than welcome.

Thanks

I run a set of xs on my smith m&p. Hold on the xs is covering the target. Notice no change in accuracy. I'm running a Heinie right now on a 1911 and trying to see what I like better.

For a target pistol why not run a rds like a trijicon rmr or aimpoint micro? The xs are really "combat sights" meant for accuracy not precision. Just a thought.

Thanks for the input. I think I will start looking at sights like the trijicon rmr. Otherwise the XS Big Dot sounds like a good night sight choice.

I have had Meprolite adjustable on my Glock 23 since I put them on it in 1996 or 97.

They have been most excellent, except for the dam tritium going dim in the last year or two.
Still unusable, but dim.

They won't replace them free, except under the 12 year warranty, and mine are now going on 16 years old!!

Those bustards!!!

I'm not one to jump at new stuff (gotta wade through the hyperbolic salesmanship), but I heard a fella from Speed Sights on a podcast the other day, and was interested enough that I looked 'em up.

I run Trijicon night sights, but if I was to get another set, I might be willing to give these guys a try. Supposedly designed to give you quick target acquisition like Big Dots etc, but also allow for precision aiming should the situation / time allow it.

Looks like these guys may be on to something?
