The guy will probably rot in jail but this could also be really bad for everyone else legislatively if it gains too much attention.

And on that note, it's near the Feinstein, Pelosi, Shifty, Nadler, Harris, Boxer area so what are the chances of it not gaining attention?

Law enforcement recovered an AR-15-style rifle from the area where
CARRILLO was arrested. An examination of the rifle by ATF revealed that it appears to be a
Privately Made Firearm (PMF) with no manufacturer’s markings. The firearm is a short-barreled
rifle with an overall length of approximately 23-1/8 inches. The weapon is 9x19mm caliber and
accepts Glock-type magazines. A function test showed firing on the pull and release of the
trigger. A test fire proved that this weapon fired two or three round bursts when the trigger was
released and is classified as a machinegun. Finally, the rifle was fitted with a silencer that
suppresses the sound of gunfire. Below is a photograph of the rifle.

Well I guess that guy decided "It's time," and followed through.

This is the harsh reality of armed insurrection against the government: You become a bad guy. Nobody will publicly cheer you on. Everyone will condemn your actions. You will be treated as a terrorist. Your loved ones will be dragged through the mud, to say nothing of the political ramifications of your actions. So, for everyone's sake, consider your actions carefully, even if you think you have nothing left to lose.

Taking a life, no matter why, is the heaviest of burdens one can take on. Don't do it if you have any viable alternative.

Evil people do evil things all the time. That doesn't make it fit for THR. If something on the legal front come out of this we can debate that.
