Hi all! I am interested in getting a red dot sight for my 9mm carbine. There are a lot of different options and configurations out there, from the very "open" style to the more scope/tube style sights. I think I like the more open style sight like this:

I'm considering that model, but I am also considering something from Sightmark, as well as a Primary Arms (though they are more scope-like). They all hit the price point of around $100, which is what I would like to spend. This carbine is going to be used for fun, plinking, going to the range, etc, but may be "promoted" to a home defense roll as I get more comfortable with the weapon.
I don't want to spend for quality I don't really need, but I want something that is going to hold up to some use, hold zero, and not fritz out on me in a year or two. For example, an ACOG or Eotech is way more than I need for this application. I know that if I spent another $150, I could have a Burris, and I'm considering that as well. But is the Burris twice as good, reliable, etc. as the TruGlo, Sightmark, or Primary Arms? I understand the buy once, cry once mantra, but that is why I am considering a $100 sight instead of a $30 sight.
I would appreciate any input from the crowd!
