Meanwhile take a look at the Howa rifles, they are extremely accurate and much lower priced

Outdoor Life from last month did a big write up on the Howa 1500 in a blackhawk axiom stock, for predator use

mmmm 22-250, good round. I have a custom Paul Jaeger 22-250 and love it. So I don't have any input on the factory rifles, but just wanted to put my .2 in about the round. I've used it for foxes and gound hogs. Fast, flat and no recoil. It was the next rifle the wife like to shoot after the .22. I do however have a thing for Weatherby rifles......and Savages.

22-250

I have a Rem 700 varment,shoots well if I use 55gr 60 max ie n part.If i was going to buy another,I would buy Savage because of 1-10 twist barrel;and be able to use 65 gr sierra gk's 69mk and 70vld.
I have a stevens 200 in .223,put a nikon 4.5-14 on it,excellent economy sporter for the price.Too bad they don't make a limited run of .218 bees,25-20,and 32-20,for those who like to conserve powder and don't require the longrange calibers all the time. The Savage Sporter was / is a nice lightweight
rifle to use as garden gun etc.
