If you're looking for a red dot sight that's similar is size and configuration as the Aimpoint Comp M2/3 but don't want to spend $400+, you might want to consider the Vortex StrikeFire RDS.

I've been using a couple of different Vortex products over the course of the last year and have found them to be exceptional values.

I've got one. First the mount broke during installation (they had a bad batch of bolts apparently). They sent me a replacement, which was cool. When I finally got to the range, the dot shuts off after every shot. I took it off the gun and it's been packed up ever since, waiting on me to remember to take it to the post office to send it back.

The one I have has been good to go. I have to use the brightest setting outside in daylight. Now I want to try a Primary Arms model to compare it to.

On balance I like the Strikfire Vortex better than the Primary Arms sights, but Primary Arms have some nice small ones that work great on AKs with the Ultimak gas tube mount.

I've had good results with each so far.

For the folks that have used either product - it would probably be useful if you could indicate the type of weapon upon which it's mounted on and provide some estimate for the types of usage that it sees (range, hunting, etc).

I have had the Vortex Strikefire mounted on one of the ARs for over a year with no problems. It is mounted on a carry handle AR in a scout type set up. It's co-witness with the iron sights perfectly with the mount that it came with. ACOG and others are great but for $150 the Strikefire is hard to beat.

I use the strikefire on an AR and it works well on the brightest setting for outdoor close range targets. I am going to try a primary arms model next. I already have an Eotech and I don't want to spend that much again.
