I have a S&W 38 spec with patent dates 3-27-1894, 5-21-1898, 8-4-1898, 12-22-1898, 10-8-1901, 12-17-1901, and 2-8-1908 on top of the barrel.
on the side of the barrel it has 38 S&W Special and under that U.S. Service CTG's. a serial number ubder the barrel of 106223.
the serial number the grip is blurred but appears to be 106223 also.
It's the 5 screw, the barrel looks like a "sewer pipe" and the top strap has a deep burn over the cylinder gap.
It also has a round grip butt.
I've shot it and it shoots pretty good but I'm wondering 2 things, first should I continue to shoot it (probabily not) and just how old is this weapon?
It's been reblued so there may no be much value there since the S&W logo is almost gone.:)
Thanks guys

The barrel is 5 inches, it's a 6 shot 38 special with fixed sights
