I came across a Colt Single action frontier scout .22 with a serial number 1033XXF. I wondered about the guns age and value. It is all blue with wear in places you would expect for being carried weeky for shooting snakes. Fired maybe 30 times total. It needs a good cleaning and new grips as I believe it was dropped and one grip has a chip out of it.

I was looking at coltparts.com for new grips. I also wanted to know if this is a good place or should I look elsewhere.

These are about 50 dollars (inc. shipping) and toted as "Authorized Colt" I would prefer new from old stock but that may not be possible.

Welcome to The High Road...:)

Your Colt Frontier Scout (Q Model) .22 revolver was made in 1959. I'm not sure about the current value. I suggest that you go to (www.gunbroker.com) and look for a similar gun for current values.

As for stocks. the following link might be helpful.

Note that the seller is a bit mixed up. The black plastic grips were made by Colt, and the rosewood ones (of much better quality) were made by Eagle.

Thanks!

That was exactly what I wanted to know. Thank you!

Thanks for the link too.
