I'm in the market to purchase some EBR magazines. I found some new Bulgarian AK magazines for $15 a piece. Are these any good? Where can I find quality AK mags (30 rds)? And when it comes to AR magazines, who makes a good mil-spec product - again a 30 rounder? Please enlighten me if you are able. Cheers.

Tim

Most any former combloc nations make pretty good AK mags. The ones to avoid, in general, are the domestic mags.

Is there a link you can post?

The Bulgarian polymer waffle mags sold by Kvar are very good.

Copes Distributing sells the Bulgie mags for a good price. They are top notch mags from a good reseller.

Hey man, give up your source for the bulgarians, my Yugo needs some more good mags.

44mag.com is stocking both AK (brand new Hungarian) and many types of AR mags.

I just got a dozen of the AK mags. They are the cleanest AK mags I've ever seen, no dings, no dries out cosmoline, they are brand new.

The Bulgarian waffle polymer mags are widely considered the best AK mags around, and they're my favorites,as well. But, i'm guessing by the more than reasonable price you quoted, the ones you're looking at are the much less desirable slab-sides Bulgy-poly mags.Take a look at the link to Copes provided above by rbernie, those are the real deal, and from a good operation.
CDNN is alsoo a great source for mags, though last i checked, they're out of the Bulgy waffle polymers. Sportsmanguide also has them pretty cheap,if you're a club member. I have them throw one more in almost everytime i order something from them.

AimSurplus has some nice AK mags for less than $10...I just ordered a good amount of them and with some paper towels sprayed with CLP and just a bit of scotch brite, they look great now...A couple of rust spots, but just surface stuff that came right off.

I like Pmags and Cproducts mags for AR's...Never had an issue with either.

CProducts' stainless steel mags are nice, but are a couple $ extra over alum. The straight ss 20's are the cat's ass.

PMags are nice, but it sux that they're over (double) their "disposable mag" pricepoint of $6-$8, I believe it was.

Go to 44mag.com

I just bought some mil-spec 30 round magazines there for UNDER $10 a piece. They also carry other brands and sizes, too.
