I am now the Proud owner of a AK WASR 10.
1. What does "GP W.A.S.R. 10/63" stand for, something Sporting Rifle?

2. Is it the Mags that are supposed to hold the bolt back , If so, the Two that came with it Don't.

3. The Trigger says "Tapco U.S.A 62" is this a Upgrade?

4. What is the thing on the Left side of the receiver?

5. Why is there Three Stamped Letters on the Left side of the Receiver, Y X V in that order?

6. Yes, the Front site is tilted slightly to the left and I remember someone saying there is a fix can someone point me to it.

7. "P" on the rear site ?

8. Are we talking Yards or Meters with those # on the rear site?

9. There are some Strange things in the Tool Pellet in the But stock?

Ill try to get pics, just waiting for battery's to charge up.

Try these to start:

http://www.ak-47.us/WASR-10.php

However, the lower article repeats an oft-stated falsehood: the WASR series actually is nothing much like the far superior SAR-1.

1. What does "GP W.A.S.R. 10/63" stand for, something Sporting Rifle?

The acronym is said to derive from the European arms treaty which created this variant of the AKM pattern.

2. Is it the Mags that are supposed to hold the bolt back , If so, the Two that came with it Don't.

No. The AKM pattern has no bolt hold-open.

3. The Trigger says "Tapco U.S.A 62" is this a Upgrade?

No. It is a U.S. made part, one of the parts count which allowed it to be imported into the United States. If you replace the trigger group, either the new trigger group or an additional member of the other controlled parts groups will have to be U.S. source.

4. What is the thing on the Left side of the receiver?

Telescopic sight base.

5. Why is there Three Stamped Letters on the Left side of the Receiver, Y X V in that order?

Manufacturing guides for the assemblers.

6. Yes, the Front site is tilted slightly to the left and I remember someone saying there is a fix can someone point me to it.

Trade the WASR for an SAR-1.

7. "P" on the rear site ?

Essentially, point blank hold point.

8. Are we talking Yards or Meters with those # on the rear site?

Meters on the tangent leaf.

9. There are some Strange things in the Tool Pellet in the But stock?

There certainly are. Leave them be, and use a normal full-size range cleaning kit.

1. What does "GP W.A.S.R. 10/63" stand for, something Sporting Rifle?
It means it's a romanian rifle that was designed to use a 10 round magazine, but now that the ban has been lifted it has been modified to take standard 30 round magazines.

2. Is it the Mags that are supposed to hold the bolt back , If so, the Two that came with it Don't.
AKs don't have a bolt hold open feature (with the exception of the Yugo mags), so your rifle is functioning as it was designed.

3. The Trigger says "Tapco U.S.A 62" is this a Upgrade?
Not an upgrade, just a replacement. The US law requires a certain number of US made parts, these are just compliance parts that are made in the US.

4. What is the thing on the Left side of the receiver?
It's for mounting optics. Russian optics mount to the side and then rise up and over the top. Look for russian mounts and you can put a red dot or a scope on it. It's a nice feature.

5. Why is there Three Stamped Letters on the Left side of the Receiver, Y X V in that order?
It is stamping where the holes in the receiver go for the pins that hold the fire control group. Only two of them have pins through them, because it is a semi-auto version of the rifle. If it was a full auto version, there would be a third pin in the Y section.

6. Yes, the Front site is tilted slightly to the left and I remember someone saying there is a fix can someone point me to it.
This is typical of AKs, especially romanian AKs. It is fixable, though.

7. "P" on the rear site ?
It's the combat setting. The 1-8 (or so) are 100s of meters. The P is for "within 300 meters" as a basic combat position.

8. Are we talking Yards or Meters with those # on the rear site?
It's not made in the US, so we're talking in meters.

9. There are some Strange things in the Tool Pellet in the But stock?
That's the cleaning kit. There should be an explanation under that same site I linked you to on Q 6.

Ill try to get pics, just waiting for battery's to charge up.
Looking forward to it ;)

ETA:
Duke, looks like we were typing at the same time. You seem to know your stuff. Good work. Anything I was wrong about, I'm sure is corrected in your post, but we're in the same ballpark.

I erased my post since they already answered your questions.

I live in Kalispell too. Is there any good ranges around here? I still just shoot in the woods, but i'm just curious.
