I was bored today and so I grabbed my CUR 2, Mauser, and the Mosin Nagant and headed all 75 miles off to the range for a little cold weather shooting in early June.

Because I'm an idiot, I forgot most of my 5.45 ammo and 7.62 so I only was able to for 20 round of Nagant ammo and 30 of 5.45 but I was more than happy with both - I has happy with the AK because of how accurate the rifle shot, I was happy with the Nagant because I had forgotten how hard you have to slap the bolt to open and close it.

On the the AK. I'd recently bought a Romanian PSO 4x16 scope and after fighting to get it on again today (for some reason the locking nut used to attach it doesn't work anymore, but it doesn't seem to matter much) I shot 3 five round mags at 100 yards on a windy day with crappy surplus ammo. The results: three groups of two and a half inches with one shot about a full inch away from the others. I wouldn't say this is too bad considering I am an average, learning (aspiring) shooter who takes some pride in shooting AK, and most importantly I think this is impressive because of the ammo used. The stuff I'm using is Russian, berdan primed (I'm pretty sure) laquer coated surplus military ammo.

Any thoughts?
