AKs never jam, right?

Dremelling or shaving down the hammer could be a solution. Possibly replacing the hammer or entire FCG ($30 solution). Or, worse, the receiver or rails may be out of alignment.
Ignorant question: if the bolt is located vertically by the rails, how does shaving the hammer help? Is there vertical play?

I think I remember Waffen having misaligned holes for the pins in the receiver, obviously causing pins to be out of spec. Sometimes visibly crooked/angled.
I could be wrong, it could have been a different manufacturer but it’s easy enough to check just get come calipers and make sure the pin holes are all where they’re supposed to be.

For what it’s worth, plenty of AK’s run flawlessly. I have one with around 6k rounds ran through it, many with a bump stock, all Russian garbage ammo. And I have cleaned it once, the day I bought it. Only problem it’s ever had I a couple light strikes, and a slam fire once....then I learned not to put it barrel down in the safe if it’s still hot.

Did it happen to be a Century RAS47?

Please, sir, you insult me by thinking I would touch a RAS47. :p This was a build on a mint Romy G kit, by a supposedly well-regarded smith. Am trying to reach the builder, but given my druthers, I'll just have this gun cut and rebuilt on a Childers or Morrisey receiver. Or, given what barreled Romy G parts kits go for these days, I could just sell this off as parts and more than break even on what I paid for it. Hmmm ... I may well do that and use the proceeds to pay for part of a Polish WBP from Atlantic Firearms.

Update: Found 2 more Circle 10 mags I'd stashed with my ammo and outsmarted myself. With my hand on the forend and shooting 7n6 I got a bolt-over jam with one, then once I got a click on an empty chamber. The rifle stings my shoulder pretty good; I'm guessing it's overgassed and the bolt is going too fast as suggested by some above. However, I also got misfeeds/jams when charging/chambering the top round of a full mag with the circle 10 and the east german mags. If I hold the mag to the rear (it only moves a tiny amount) I went through 4 mags (using circle 10s and East Germans) with no malfunctions. If I hold the mag to the rear when charging from a full mag it didn't jam when charging the rifle. It's annoying to have to hold the mag rather than the forend though. I guess I have at least one problem to fix (mag catch replacement or weld/file) and maybe two.
