A vp of our company went to the Super Bowl (good to be the king)

He got pulled aside by security...

Seems he had had a stress test complete with the barium(whatever) cocktail a week previous....

They picked up the residual radiation

Unbelievable how advanced the detection equipment is...

I feel safer...a little anyway

Barium Swallows suck! You have to drink castor oil, then drink some sort of Barium milkshake. Then they look at you on an X-ray machine. Believe me, it sucks.

I think he means Thallium and not Barium.

Thallium is radioactive, Barium is not.

Target list is a good thing, but don't publish it. Let them know it exist and that it is prioritized and the first country on the list (for us to know and you to find out) will be nuked at the first act of terrorism.

Actually, I think Dubya should have made this as part of an announcement on 9/14/01. Something like, "In accordance with my statement about holding equally responsible those who give safe haven to the terrorists, Afghanistan has been turned into a highly radioactive glass parking lot. We have a prioritized list of other 'safe haven' countries, and at the next act of terrorism against us, the first contry on the list will receive the same". Then, when sneakerman tried to blow the plane out of the sky, he should have taken out the first country on the list in the same way.

You do realize that "Creating International Glass-Floored Parking Lots" makes for some really angry people, both foriegn and domestic, right? Like people who also have the capablity to make a few glass-floored parkinglots.


THis isnt to say that I advocate bending over and taking it. I advocate using damned strong tactics, but killing large numbers of civilians without regard isnt on that list of tactics.

Sorry, but after 9/11, there are no "civilians". They all died a mile or two south of me and in DC and in PA. I've had to walk past their pictures every day in Penn station (faces that no longer got on the train with me in the morning) and for a long time, their cars took up quite a number of parking spaces at my train station. And, while it doesn't have a face on it, my parking permit belonged to a face that didn't come back.

And since I work in one of the places they'd like to turn into a glass parking lot or uninhabitable for a period of time measured in half lives, I can't look at this as dispassionately as others in less high profile places.
