Just returned from Alaska and my second fly-out Caribou hunt. We went in 2002 and had a great time, so we re-booked with the same outfit, Iliamna Air Guides www.airguides.com
The Kneens run a professional operation, and I would wholeheartedly recommend them if considering this type of hunt. We had bad weather; sideways rain and snow with temps in the 30-40 degree range for 2 1/2 days solid. There was a point that we had to remind ourselves we PAID to do this. Nothing like Alaska to quickly show you the limits of your new high-tech Gore-Tex from Cabela's. We thought we would never be dry again.
We all 3 scored on bulls, which surprised the hunt operators. It has been a bad year for bulls and the weather did not cooperate. One real nice bull, one respectable one, and a young one near camp for the meat hunter in our group. We also had some good Ptarmigan hunting, bring a shotgun if you go. Practice 300 yard shooting with your rifle beforehand, the tundra is a big place. My pictures are out of an old-fashioned film camera, it'll be awhile before I get the pics up.

At a certain point, I simply give up and switch to shorts. If you're going to be swimming in rain, pants are useless.
