Citori Superlight OU 12ga. Anyone have experience shooting or carrying one in the field? It's getting harder to tote my old Citori around--I might even consider a 20ga or 28ga. for quail.

Depending on where you are hunting quail, the 28 is a great choice. Otherwise, a 20 will definitely work. Beretta's 20 gauge O/U guns typically weigh about 6 to 6.4 pounds. Good Spanish SxS guns will run about 6# as well.

Most Browning 20 gauge guns still run close to 7# and the 28's tend to be heavier as they as built on the 20 gauge frame

Definitely try a 28ga if you get a chance. They carry like a dream, and will cleanly take birds up to and including pheasants within reasonable range. Ammo isn't quite as easy to find as 12 or 20, but there are a lot of choices out there now.

I have one in Grade III for sale, but will only do face to face, so unless you're in NC...

Ignore the 870:

Yes I had one and when I lived down in the border country of NM and did a lot of quail hunting it was by far my favorite shotgun. Mine didn't have the choke tubes but that never was an issue.
Light and accurate, I regret letting it go but I traded up for much more than I had in it.
If I ever get around quail again I will have another.
