Anyone else notice that J&G Sales is advertising 30-06 ammo on the Drudge Report with the tag "Get it while you can"?
I don't think I've ever seen gun-related merch advertised on a mainstream site like that.
The J&G ad is a banner that rotates with other ads

Those ad banners have become a lot more sophisticated over the years. What is very likely happening is, somewhere on your computer is a cookie which identifies you as someone who has an interest in firearms. The ad software finds that, reads it, culls through its database of ads, and serves up J&G sales. Go ahead and test it out - go to Drudge from a non-shooting friend's PC and see if he sees what you see.

If you're interested the CMP is the source of the .06 they've got deals on--the LC and the Greek. It is a good deal--the Greek loaded on clips and for the M-1 works out (with shipping) to .25 per round. Both has it's adherents recommending it. The thing that swayed me toward the Greek is that it hasn't been as mandhandled as the LC which was pulled by Tallon from machinegun belts; I had a bullet 'pop' out of the case in the weapon last month after getting some for x-mas.

Ammo Ad on Drudge

I too saw the J&G ad at the top of Drudge a short while ago. In disbelief, I had to show my buddy sitting next to me.

I have had good luck with the LC I bought a year or two ago. I need to buy some more though. I have some Greek on clips, but I am reluctant to pop open the sealed spam cans unless I have to. :)

I am a little worried the ammo might follow the Garand availability.

The CMP (supposedly) has quite a bit of the Greek. Much of the LC has been snatched up as it is a better known 'brand' here in the states. My case of Greek stuff is (last I checked) in GA somewhere. I'll put in a report after I shoot some. The LC worked just fine--but that failure really freaked me out. I'm sure it was a fluke.

If this is the end of the line maybe the Mrs. will let me get a second mortgage to make sure the kids have a good supply of practice ammo for later.

Ads? I don't think I've seen an ad on the internet in three years. :D

Not even kidding. Firefox is Adblocked, popup-blocked, and hostfile-blocked six ways from Sunday.
