Well have loaded up the ammo for the testing of the .260

50 rounds: 139 Scenar 42.13 grains of N550
10 rounds: 139 Scenar 37.5 grains N150
10 Rounds: 139 Scenar 38.0 grains N150
30 Rounds: 123 Scenar at 39.5, 39.9, 40.5 grains N150

10 at each level for 139 Scenar and 140 SMK
41.7 Grains of N560
41.1 grains of N160

10 each of 123 and 120 SMK @39.3 grains N550

COAL with Lapua Bullets is 2.925
COAL with Sierra Bullets is 2.839

All 160 cartridges use CCI BR2 primers.
All recipies are from the Manufacturer.

In addition to which I plan on carrying 40 Federal 140 gr Gamekings which are the only commercially manufactured cartridges available for the .260.

So how many shots do you think it will take for his tester to figure out the rifle doesnt work.
Unless of course they have actually fixed it by then. Which given that tomorrow is a holiday, I dont quite think is likely.

I'll say 30 rounds will give enough definitive data to ascertain whether it's the rifle or something else. I'm betting it's still the rifle. Any gunmaker worth his salt will make every effort to satisfy a customer, especially the second time around because his reputation is riding on it. The barrel should be a perfect, hand lapped and air gauged high end version, and the fit to the action and chambering needs to be as perfect as possible, for the money that you have laid out. As I have mentioned in a previous post, that rifle should be capable of shooting 1/4 MOA most of the time.
We'll just have to wait and see.

Also got a request for a batch of 10 123 grain scenars seated to a COAL of 3.035 inches..

Which essentially means that it will be seated just 0.077 inches as far as the shank goes into the case. And when chambered well into the lands. I doubt if the bolt will close personally.

Checked the numbers on quickload... with a start pressure of 10825 instead of the normal 3625... and it appears to be safe. The +10% pressure comes to 57450... near max. While -10 is at 4395..
