An interesting discussion on training and how it sometimes plays out in court

After the Floyd death, in the midst of all the pontificating by the talking heads on television and "experts" in police use of force, I told my wife that a huge can of worms was being opened and law enforcement training was going to be discussed on TV and in and out of the courtrooms now and forever more. And lo, training is now one of the first things the lights are shined on with every new cop (and corrections) use of physical force/use of deadly force incident.

The tide has turned. So anyone who believes that training is unlikely to be brought up -- in any context -- in trials involving non-law enforcement folks after a use of deadly force may have his/her head buried in the sand.
