An interesting gun quiz

26 out of 30. I had a perfect score for the first 20 or so then started having issues haha. At least the ones I got wrong were about 700 year old chinese or nuclear weapons or some such nonsense.

29 out of 30. I missed the arm named after Davy Crockett due to clicking before I read the answers correctly. I knew the Davy Crockett launcher flung a nuclear warhead. In fact, the danger radius of the warhead exceeded the maximum range of the launcher, which is why it isn't in the arsenal any more.

Then again, I've been studying firearms since the early 1960s and listening to fellows who fought in WW One and all thereafter.

They could have made that test really hard. Except for a few questions it was hard
not to get them mostly right.

Not entirely true.

The warhead was only a 10 or 20 ton yield warhead. For a non-enhanced nuclear weapon, calculations for a 250 tons yield (10x the yield of the Mk54 warhead) at 1.25 miles (max range for the M28) only gives an initial dose of just under 1 REM which is totally negligible for a single dose. The same calculation for 10 tons at about 1000 feet (so far off the scale of the calculator it is hard to get an estimate though) does indicate initial dose would exceed 1000 REMs and have less than 5% survival rate with prompt medical care.

The major problem was once it cleared the launcher, the thing was armed, so a short round would be lethal.

3 wrong for me.
Disagree on one even tho I got it right.
First plastic gun-wrong
type of gun at dawn? wrong
forgot the 3rd.
I couldda' come up with better questions!
