Was a picture of my wife shooting a CZ75 that also showed her tattoo that quotes a biblical passage.

Thought it might be slightly more philosophical than Oleg's "bear and grinning idiot with machine gun" picture, but obviously the road ain't so high anymore. Sorry I came back.

The CZ 75 is an oustanding pistol. I have the BD version, and I love it. My wife loves it, too, except for the weight of the full-sized, all steel version. I bet she'd love a PCR (and I would, too!). :D

I had originally posted a picture of my wife with her CZ in the "general gun discussion" forum. The thread was promptly moved and responded to with #2 above, not quite what I'd expect here. In disgust I rather hastily edited my post, removed the pic, and came close to spending another 5 months away from this board.

I wasn't aware that women wore tefillim.

Ah the joys of being in a Reform congregation. My wife has that phrase, in Hebrew, tattooed on her right shoulder. Last time she was shooting I took a pic that highlights that tat and thought it was an amazing collection of concepts -- an armed Jewish woman, "never again", and "bind them as a sign upon your hand". Perhaps not as "high road" as the machine gun clan of the cave bear thing tho. Oh well, I'll lighten up now, just came back from the pond and I've got an '03A3 to clean.

Good heavens, first tefillin and now cuttings in the flesh! Good thing you don't believe in Hell! :D

I thought tattooing was contrary to biblical law.

Orthodox and (most) Conservative Jews strictly adhere to the "no tattoos" stance, while Reform and more secular folks (including a lot of Israelis) don't feel so bound by it....I'm not trying to get in to any religious debates here, I just thought the image an interesting mix of ideas. (Note that "Conservative" is a particular branch of Judaism and not a political comment...)

not that it matters, since everyone can interpret passages as they please, but i've always taken that particular passage about tattoos in the context of using them to honor the dead.

now back to your regular programming.

Okay.

Now I understand.

Have to admit the original posting version was way too obscure for me.

:)
